Prof. Anton Jayasuriya passes away
Internationally renowned acupuncturist Professor Anton Jayasuriya passed away 6th April 2005. The last rites was performed at a private funeral, in keeping with his last wishes at the General Cemetery, Kanatte, 1.30 p.m. the same day after a postmortem performed by the Assistan Judicial Medical Officer of the Colombo South Hospital determined that he had died of a heart attack.

Prof. Jayasuriya was found dead in his room in his Wellawatte residence at International Buddhist Centre Road around 6 a.m. on Wdnesday 6th.

Following his last wishes he was buried according his request that the funeral should be held inexpensively, with a simple coffin, on the same day as his death, and without showing his body to anyone.

Prof. Anton Jayasuriya was 75 years old.
